Statement of Faith

Section I: The Triune God

We believe that there is ONE living and Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; equal in power and in glory; and that this Triune God created, upholds and governs all.

A. Father We believe God the Father is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. God is absolutely holy, righteous and just. His love and mercy were manifested in the atoning death of His only begotten Son on Calvary.

B. Son We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious sufferings and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory.

C. Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person; convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment; is the supernatural agent of God in the regeneration of the lost; indwells in all believers, sealing them in the body of Christ unto the day of redemption; and is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth.

Section II: The Holy Scripture

The Holy Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. We believe that the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament are verbally inspired by God (II Timothy 3:16), that they are inerrant and infallible in their original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority for faith and practice.

Section III: The Total Depravity of Man

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, but the whole race of man was separated from God in the sin of Adam and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death. We believe that no man can reconcile himself with God and thereby gain entrance to His Kingdom unless and until he is born again by the Holy Spirit. Section IV: Satan We believe that Satan is the originator of sin and the cause of the fall of man and that he shall be punished eternally in the lake of fire, which is reserved for the devil and his angels and whoever is not found written in the Book of Life.

Section V: Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and reserved through repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

A.    Conditions to Salvation Salvation is received through repentance towards God, confession by mouth, and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ, His Son (Romans 10:9). B. The Evidence of Salvation The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence of salvation is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24, Titus 2:12).

Section VI: Heaven and Hell

We believe that heaven is the hope and the eternal home of the saved and that hell is a literal place of eternal separation from God for those who are unsaved.

Section VII: The Church

We believe that the body of Christ is composed of all born-again believers everywhere without respect to race, color or denomination. We believe that the local Church comprises of born-again believers who come together for worship, fellowship, discipleship and evangelism.

Section VIII: Core Doctrinal Principles

We believe that the Core Doctrinal Principles of the Church consist of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17, Deuteronomy 5:7-21) and the following Seven Fundamental Doctrines described in Acts 2:38-42.

1. Repentance

2. Baptism by Immersion

3. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

4. Listening to the Word of God

5. Fellowship with the Believers

6. Breaking of Bread

7. Prayer The teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles as seen in the New Testament also form the guiding principles of the Church.

Section IX: Ordinances

• Water Baptism: We believe that baptism in water shall be by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and shall be administered to only those who give evidence of being born again.

• Lord’s Supper: We believe that the Lord’s Supper is to be observed by all believers who are baptized in water. Each participant should examine himself/herself before partaking. It is a memorial of our Lord’s sufferings and death which will be observed until He returns, in accordance with I Corinthians 11:23-32.

Section X: Baptism of the Holy Spirit We believe that we are entitled to and shall earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience, which is a distinct experience from the new birth and is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance, and it is the physical evidence of having received His endowment of power for witnessing.

Section XI: Holiness We believe that sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and of dedication unto God. The Bible teaches a life of holiness “without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to the word of God.

Section XII: Divine Healing We believe that divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. The gifts of the Holy Spirit including gifts of healing are provided for in the atonement, which is the privilege of all believers today. Praying for the sick is emphasized in the New Testament, and it is the duty of the Church to practice it.

Section XIII: Marriage and Divorce We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as described in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25, Malachi 2). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5, Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including, but not limited to, pre-marital sex, adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, transgender conduct or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

We believe in the sanctity of marriage and that marriage should be between one man and one woman who are both believers according to Article II Section II of the BYLAWS. We believe that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). Divorce is contrary to the principles of marriage and its original institution by God, and was only allowed for the hardness of men\'s hearts (Deuteronomy 24:1, Matthew 19:3-9). The members should refrain from divorce except due to such situations as described in Matthew 19:9.
